Experience and Education
Mr. D. Joiner moved to North Carolina from New York at the age of sixteen, and this beautiful state has been his home for the past 46 years. He recently retired from Rutherford County Schools on March 1, 2024, after dedicating over 17 years to serving its children as an employee at Spindale Elementary School. Throughout his career, Joiner has demonstrated significant community involvement, emphasizing the importance of education and support for young learners.
In addition to his teaching career, Mr. D. Joiner proudly served in the U.S. Army during Operation Urgent Fury during the invasion of Grenada in 1983. He is a 2013 graduate of Gardner-Webb University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Religious Studies. Furthermore, Joiner is a 2005 graduate of Isothermal Community College, holding an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood - Teacher Associate. Joiner Speaks at various events to inspire and engage the community, sharing his journey and commitment to education.
